... The book will be extremely valuable for graduate students and for
specialists. Every college, university, and institute library needs a
copy of this excellent book. (I. Coroian, Mathematical Reviews
(99m:65001))

... Corresponding to the importance and to the highly developed state of the
art of numerically solving initial value problems for ordinary differential
equations there exists quite a number of excellent books dedicated to this
topic. So it is always surprising when a new book, like the present one, gives
an interesting new approach which is not covered by the already existing
publications. (R.D. Grigorieff, Zentralblatt-MATH (980.25006))

... Boundary value methods are an interesting approach to solving IVPs for
ordinary differential equations. The thorough treatment of basic theoretical
issues and natural families of methods make this monograph indispensable to
anyone pursuing this approach. BVMs might well be useful in practice for some
classes of IVPs, but much remains to be done before such method appears as an
item of mathematical software. (L.F. Shampine, SIAM Review 42,1 (2000))
