Nato a Firenze il 6/9/1965.
Laureato in Matematica il 24/4/1991 presso l'Università di Firenze, con una tesi in Geometria Finita (relatore Prof. Adriano Barlotti).
Vincitore di una borsa di studio per l'estero dell'Istituto Nazionale di Alta Matematica "Francesco Severi", con la quale ho trascorso l'anno accademico 1991/92 presso l'Università di Erlangen-Nürnberg (advisor Prof. Karl Strambach).
Vincitore nel 1992 di una borsa di dottorato in Matematica dell'Università di Firenze.
Ricercatore dal 1/12/1995 presso l'Istituto di Analisi Globale ed Applicazioni del CNR.
Dal 1997 Dottore di Ricerca in Matematica (tesi "Volumi e proiezioni di corpi convessi", Direttore di Ricerca Prof. Stefano Campi).
Dal 1996 collabora all'organizzazione della Gara Matematica di Firenze.
Dal 2000 al 2009 membro della Commissione Olimpiadi dell'Unione Matematica Italiana.
Dal 2004 cura la rubrica Eureka Giovani della rivista Archimede.
Dal 30/12/2004 Professore Associato presso la Facoltà di Architettura dell'Università di Firenze.
